At the meeting, we discussed monitoring of the melting pool, laser beams as well as material and process modeling. We also looked at the exciting microstructures we can create by adjusting the laser intensity.
The ALABAMA project aims at developing technology to increase effectiveness of metal 3D printing. We are researching laser beams that use 90% less time and material than conventional production methods.
