he ALABAMA project is rapidly advancing toward a new series of coupon tests for the multi-laser formation setup. The accompanying video demonstrates the build head moving at a controlled pace, following a precise formation pattern aligned with its trajectory. This stage is critical for validating the formation strategy before transitioning to full-scale metal melting.
This upcoming test will serve as the final checkpoint in our preparatory phase, ensuring that all parameters, namely laser synchronization, deposition accuracy, and formation integrity are optimized. Once completed, we will resume metal melting with improved confidence in the system’s performance and microstructural control. Exciting times ahead as we move closer to achieving the next milestone in ALABAMA!
The video underneath display the test from the calibration unit. The small wobble is due to that the robot itself was run in manual mode. The directions, however, was automatically updated to the laser formation part-system.
