We continue our search for optimal melt pool behaviour with pulsing laser, beam shaping of laser and different multi laser beam configurations. The laser pulses, shapes and configurations are dynamically changed during the build process depending on part geometry and temperatures.
By using cameras and simulations we pursue to optimise the AM melt pool. We investigate both wire and powder-based AM and by surveying the process and use the data to verify the simulations we link cameras and sensors back to the process simulations.

In this example the process is laser DED using powder deposition on a plate.
